Mondelez – Holographic Display Ads

That’s right – Holographic ads are now in-store. What a time to be alive!

Mondelez, the organisation behind confectionary brands such as Orea, TUC, Belvita, Milka, Trident and so forth, have become the first to bring holographic display ads to the supermarket aisle in the U.S.

As part of its #PassTheLove campaign, the new display features a rotating 3D soccer ball upon which is projected a short clip of American soccer star Alex Morgan. The display aims to introduce consumers to famous brands Ritz, Honey Maid and Chips Ahoy!

With the ability to provide both audio and visual content the ad clearly delivers on stopping power, helping the featured brands stand out from competitors. However, it is unclear whether shoppers will be receptive to this kind of in-store technology.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how such innovation might be used in future to deliver value to shoppers.

PopChips RTB SRP

Spotted, PopChips in Sainsburys Ladbroke Grove, offering up a simple but clear RTB on their new Popchips Tortilla Chips SRP with the copy “Less Guilty. More Pleasure.”

We like this because it gives the shopper a reason to choose the product vs its category competitors.

It’s a shame the creative isn¹t more impactful, the combination of colours and print techniques means that it doesn¹t really stand out.

Catch a free packet of Walkers AND the bus

Walkers have been thanking it’s contributors to it’s ‘Do Us a Flavour’ campaign through the first ever Twitter operated vending machine on Oxford Street and in Clapham.

The premise is simple; you’re goaded on by video clips of Gary Lineker, who’s ‘housed’ in the bus stop, to tweet, @Walkers_busstop with the hashtag of one of the 6 flavours in the running to become the nations favourite.

You’re instantly greeted with a free packet of crisps to try – nice work, Walkers!

Holland and Barretts we salute you!

One thing we do enjoy as an agency – the improvement of a shopping experience.  And H&B is on top form with their new store design!

Through to a market place to select your own dried fruit an nuts!

The experience overall is massively improved from the standard shop.  H&B offer category education, interactive displays that aid navigation for those niche and sometimes high priced items.

We do question the impact on the look and feel of H&B as a brand and the value of the revamp against how/if sales increase but time will tell!

Lurpak sampling campaign in Waterloo station

This morning, Lurpak was giving out Orange & Cardamom shortbread in Waterloo station.

The sample looks great, tastes amazing but we’re missing something.

What is the call to action here? What is the next step?

In order to drive even more awareness to the product range and product purchase, we would recommend extra information on the product range or a coupon inside the sample.
